Father and son each snag home run balls at Yankee Stadium
Most baseball fans will go their entire lives without catching a home run or foul ball at a Major League Baseball game. We’re talking about an actual game ball here too, not a batting practice home run or a pre-game toss from the bullpen catcher. A game ball is what we all want to brag to our friends about, so that’s how we should judge our success.
With that made perfectly clear, one family attending the Indians 5-2 win at Yankee Stadium on Saturday essentially hit the souvenir jackpot.

In a span of three innings, both father and son snagged home run balls off the bats of Cleveland sluggers Jason Kipnis and Mike Napoli respectively, leaving the rest of us torn between being amazed and feeling jealous.
Let’s be honest, we’re all leaning toward jealous here.
As you can see from the photo, the young fan seems pretty torn too. The Indians shirt and Yankees hat combo won’t fly in 10-12 years, young man, but we’ll let it slide right now.
We’ll also applaud his effort, as he had to venture deep into the often times unforgiving right field bleachers to secure the Kipnis home run ball. We’re not sure if there were any negotiations involved, but he emerged from that pack looking like a boss.
As for his father, he showed some impressive hands grabbing that ricochet on Napoli’s home run. Clearly, it was more than luck that brought this family two souvenirs. Both were well earned.
